Simple Season's Greetings

Are you ready for Christmas???

I think I am!  All the gifts are wrapped and the cards are mailed.  The kids helped me clean the house and the in laws arrive tonight.  I will do the final grocery shopping tomorrow.

I made this card last week but haven't had a chance to share it so I thought I'd share it today.  Such a simple design but the image is so pretty it really doesn't need much else!

I especially like how the bow turned out!

Here's a closer look at the pretty cardinal.  This image is available in red rubber and digi from Eureka Stamps and is part of the Tender Thoughts line.

Hi there...can you believe Christmas is only a few days away????!!!! Small panic attack coming on! Actually I am ALMOST done shopping. I have 4 more gifts to buy, but a couple of them I don't need until after Christmas day, so I have time. My hubby and I are planning on doing all the kids' wrapping on Tuesday night, so we should be good. Then there is the trip to the grocery store...lets just say...that is going to be an adventure. I can't go until Friday, and I will have all 3 of my fun! I wanted to share a card I made using the Poinsettia Flower stamp from Biblical Impressions. This image is our "stamp of the month" for December. I stamped the image and colored with watercolor crayons. BUT...I did some paper piecing on the leaves of the flower. The PP is all from my stash...I believe it is SU. I added a rub-on, some stickles, and some little red gems to the corners. A very simple card, but that flower is so pretty alone, that you don't need much more. Well have a wonderful holiday week!

Christmas cards

How are you doing on your Christmas cards?
I was having a tough time deciding on a card to make and I was thinking I wouldn't get them done. Finally, a style ect. just hit me and I was set to go.

I decided to use the "Pine Sprig" (#15702) image from QKR Stampede.
I stamped it onto white card stock and colored them with water color crayons.
I used a few different colors of card stock with the image as a mat.
I then ran white card stock through my Cuttlebug with the snowflake embossing folder.

Here is a close up that shows the embossed snowflakes better.
I use just a touch of gold Stickles on the bells to finish them off.
On the inside of the cards I used the digital image of
"Merry Christmas" (#6803) from Eureka! Stamps.
By using the digital image, I could adjust the size and change the color to match the card fronts.

I'm lovin' how they turned out!
Did you make Christmas cards this year?
There's still time.
Just pop into QKR Stampede, Eureka! Stamps or Biblical Impressions and pick out an image and a sentiment.
They can be quick and easy, especially if you purchase the digital images.

Thanks for stopping by today. Come again soon!

Stamping on a layout

Hello blog friends!

A while back I got a set of adorable alpha stamps called "Angel Alphabet" (#10502)  and "Watering Hearts" (#8403) from QKR Stampede
I knew exactly what I wanted to do with the
"Angel Alphabet" and finally did it.
I stamped out "Kelsie Angel Baby" and colored it with water color crayons
In the center I used the "Watering Hearts" image.
These were perfect for this layout, as we called her that from the time she was born.
I'm way behind in my scrapbooking.  That little Angel Baby is getting close to 22 yrs old now.

I love how this layout turned out.  I love using stamping on layouts and this is a perfect example of one way that it can be done.

The "Angel Alphabet" can be used for so many different kinds of projects.  How cute would it be to use them to make a name plate for a little girl's room?!?!

QKR Stampede and it's sister company Eureka! Stamps have a lot of great angel images.  So pop on over to the stores and take a look.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you have been inspired to use some of your stamps on your layouts.
Hope you'll stop by again soon.

Snowy Season's Greetings

Happy Saturday!

I hope you are enjoying your long holiday weekend!

Ok...don't laugh but It is starting to feel like winter here in California so I thought I would make a winter card for you this week.

I know that those of you in snow country don't think we really have winter but it's cold and rainy so it's winter to me!  One of the things I love about winter is that I can be in the snow in 2 hours but I don't have to live my day to day life in it!

Here's my snowy card! I just love the cool feel of pink and teal together.

And....a little closer look....

This adorable image is "Best Friends" from QKR Stampede.

I hope whatever stage of winter you are experiencing, you are staying warm and cozy!

LIon Head

This card features the Lion Head image from Biblical Impressions.

The background is created with Ranger Alcohol Inks: Butterscotch and Rust. I cut a circle of felt using my Nestabilities, attached to my Velcro block and inked up then did a circular motion on the card for the sun, applied the same color to the entire panel. Next I used a piece of felt cut about ½” wide and pulled the rust color over the top of the butterscotch then repeated the sun which helped create the dark outside edge.

The lion image was colored with Copics: (E25,31,33,35,37,40,42) then attached to the card with foam squares.

The small nailheads were attached using Aleene’s Paper Glaze for adhesive. I touch a stick pin to the glaze then to the back of the nailhead which picks it up, place it on the card, press down with the finger and pull away then slide into place if needed.

The image was stamped on the envelope and insert using Stampin Up’s Going Gray ink.

Image: Biblical Impressions –33002 Lion Head

Paper: Remember When – black textured, glossy white, unknown colors, Beckett Expressions Iceberg for image

Ink: Memento – Tuxedo Black, Ranger Alcohol Inks –Butterscotch, Rust, Stampin Up - Going Gray

Matting was done twice to bring out the colors in this image. My airbrush machine was used for the background.I found this patterned paper at Hobby Lobby and just love the pattern Burgundy ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon worked to add the texture. Just a few red pearls to decorate from Pizzazz Aplenty.I even used a little Liquid Glass to accent the berries.

Easy Gift Card Holders

Hello blog fans!

Today I have some very simple gift card holders to show you.
This first one was made with "Lady Bug Border" (#25302) from
I cut the red card stock 4 1/4" x 7 1/2"
I scored and folded it at 1 1/2" and at 4 1/2"  The 1 1/2" section folds in to create the pocket for the gift card, by just adhering the outer edges of the pocket.
The other folds to form the front of the card.
I adhered the stamped Lady Bug Border to the front of the card.
Very simple.

This 2nd gift card holder I used "Christmas Border" (#15706) from
QKR Stampede and stepped it up a notch.
I stamped the Christmas Border onto the front of the card and colored the image.  I also stamped the image onto the envelope that I made and colored it too.

These gift card holders can be made with many images from Eureka! Stamps or it's sister companies QKR Stampede and Biblical Impressions.
You are only limited by your imagination.
There are many different themes that can be used for lots of occasions.

Thanks for stopping by today. Leave a comment, then hop on over and see what you can find to make some of these cute gift card holders.

Bazzil Basics card stock
Neenah white card stock
Prima flowers
Robins Egg Dew Drops

I'm so glad you stopped by today and hope you enjoyed my bright, happy card!

Have a bright, happy rest of the day!

Today I have a card that I made with only part of an image.
I have used the image "Life is Sweeter" (#9102) from QKR Stampede.
I cut the rubber stamp apart and used only the sentiment.
With the stamp cut into pieces I can use it in many more ways on cards and other projects.
I decided I wanted to do something a little different on the front of this card.
First I punched out circles from different coordinating papers, then adhered them to a piece of card stock.  I then trimmed it to the size I wanted for the card and layered it onto another piece of card stock.  Before adhering it to the card base I punched another circle out of the right side of the card stock.  I used a border punch to punch out the tiny hearts and used foam tape to adhere them to the card.

This card was quick and easy and I think it turned out very pretty.  I hope you have enjoyed it too.

Now hop on over to QKR Stampede and see what stamps you might be able to use in different ways.

Thanks for visiting, come again soon!
